Abstract: The purpose of this research is to strengthen the project “Strengthening human and business capacities” that trained 220 entrepreneurs throughout Guanacaste, using virtual modalities. This effort responds to a need identified because most microenterprises and SMEs in Costa Rica are concentrated in the Greater Metropolitan Area, leaving other regions such as Guanacaste, which represents only 4.1% of these enterprises nationwide, unattended.
The training program was designed to involve a wide range of entrepreneurial initiatives, from start-up ideas to businesses in advanced stages of development. In addition, it integrated the local actors of the entrepreneurial ecosystem in each canton of Guanacaste, emphasizing collaboration with local governments to maximize the project's impact.
This initiative has positioned itself as an effective solution to make up for the lack of methodologies adapted to the specific needs, solutions and local economic dynamics of entrepreneurship in the province. It provides comprehensive training and accompaniment, adopting a business incubation approach that promotes sustainable development and entrepreneurship in the region.
However, it is now necessary to carry out a diagnosis of the situation of the entrepreneurs served, identify the gaps that prevent them from growing, and generate a more specific and specialized training plan to support the growth of
those ventures that have advanced. |
