Abstract: The project proposes the possibility of creating an organized scientific network or consortium for monitoring and supporting higher educational inclusion for people with disabilities and social disadvantage in the countries of the Central American and Caribbean Region. In the first stage, a diagnosis of the current situation during the COVID-19 pandemic will be made regarding the conditions of academic accessibility, permanence and promotion of students in a situation of disability and social disadvantage in the participating universities. The results of this stage will be used to define strategies for promoting the inclusion and permanence of persons with disabilities and social disadvantage in higher education. The second stage of the research proposes a proposal of research axes that will enable us to understand the reality of the Central American and Caribbean region to enhance cooperation and exchange during the generation of collective knowledge on academic accessibility for people facing barriers to learning and participation in higher education that limit their social mobility. |
