| Abstract: The circular economy has emerged as a key approach for the transition toward sustainable production models within the framework of the Paris Agreement, the 2030 Agenda, and the Sustainable Development Goals. However, the models and indicators used to measure circularity have primarily focused on environmental and material efficiency variables, with limited incorporation of economic and financial criteria. This study systematizes the main instruments, models, and methodologies for measuring the circular economy developed at the international level, as well as the theoretical and regulatory approaches related to the economic and financial analysis of circularity. Based on this review, gaps in existing measurement systems are identified, and a proposal for financial and economic criteria and indicators applicable to the measurement of circular economy management is formulated. The study aims to strengthen circularity assessment tools and provide useful insights for organizations, businesses, institutions, students, academic staff, and the general public interested in circular economy management in Costa Rica |
