| Abstract: Construction process of the test "Assessment of pedagogical trends in university teachers(VTP in spanish) is described, emphasizing the methodological development that has been followed to measure the tendencies on the pedagogical approaches, which are understood as those preferences or styles that university teachers have detached from the practice but that have an epistemological position that sustains it. It is a pedagogical research, developed under a mixed convergent model, where an analytical comparison of the results of the different types of techniques and a cross validation between the data are carried out. The different stages in its construction are pointed out, ranging from theoretical analysis, the development of focus groups, the validation process that included expert judgment and the analysis of multiple correspondences and hypothesis testing. This has resulted in the optimization of the instrument; therefore, the VTP test comprises five pedagogical approaches and eight dimensions, with a total of 40 dichotomous items. The VTP was applied in its preliminary phase to 27 university teachers belonging to the Central American School of Geology of the University of Costa Rica. |
